C4 EasyQ System - Frenzel Equalization Tool
The C4 EasyQ System is a compact equalization training tool for freedivers who want to practise pressure control on dry land.
It is designed for focused Frenzel-based equalization training, helping you build awareness of tongue position, soft palate control and pressure generation before taking the skill into the water.
This is not a Valsalva trainer. In freediving, the goal is not to build a stronger pushing habit from the chest or belly. The goal is cleaner, more controlled Frenzel mechanics — and later, a better foundation for Advanced Frenzel, Sequential Frenzel and Mouthfill work.
Why use an EQ tool?
Equalization is often the limiting factor in freediving. The EasyQ gives you a simple way to practise the pressure-building part of the movement outside the water, where you can slow everything down and feel what is actually happening.
Used correctly, it helps you separate the movements that matter: glottis control, tongue movement, soft palate position and relaxed pressure transfer through the nose. That makes it useful for beginners learning Frenzel and for experienced freedivers refining more advanced techniques.
Main benefits
- Dry equalization practice at home, before pool or depth sessions
- Frenzel-focused training instead of reinforcing Valsalva habits
- Compact plastic design that is easy to carry in a training bag
- Two-size system to fit different nose shapes more comfortably
- Immediate pressure feedback when used with a training balloon
- Useful for beginners and advanced freedivers
- Good preparation for coaching sessions and structured equalization work
What can you train with it?
The EasyQ is best used as a dry training tool for controlled freediving equalization. It helps you practise the mechanics behind:
- Frenzel equalization
- Soft palate control
- Tongue piston movement
- Glottis closure awareness
- Advanced Frenzel preparation
- Sequential Frenzel preparation
- Mouthfill foundation work
The tool itself will not magically fix equalization. It gives feedback. The real improvement comes from correct drills, repetition and ideally feedback from a coach.
Recommended training setup
If equalization is your main limitation, combine the EasyQ with structured coaching rather than guessing your way through random exercises.
For direct individual feedback, choose Druckausgleich - 1:1 Private Coaching. This is the best option if you are stuck at a specific depth or need precise correction.
If you want to train from home, pair the EasyQ with Druckausgleich - Online Coaching. This is the strongest cross-sell because the EasyQ is specifically useful for dry training.
For a deeper theoretical and practical framework, add The Encyclopedia of Equalization by Andrea Zuccari. The book is ideal if you want a structured reference for Frenzel, Advanced Frenzel, Sequential Frenzel and Mouthfill.

FAQ
Is the C4 EasyQ System for Valsalva training?
No. For freediving, the focus should be Frenzel-based equalization, not building a stronger Valsalva habit. The EasyQ should be used to improve controlled pressure generation, tongue movement, soft palate control and glottis awareness.
Can beginners use the EasyQ?
Yes. It is useful for beginners learning Frenzel because it allows dry practice away from the stress of depth, water and breath-hold pressure.
Can advanced freedivers use it?
Yes. Advanced freedivers can use it for more precise pressure-control work and as preparation for Advanced Frenzel, Sequential Frenzel and Mouthfill training.
Does the EasyQ replace coaching?
No. It is a feedback tool, not a coach. If equalization is blocking your progress, combine it with 1:1 coaching or online coaching for faster and cleaner correction.
Is this the same as the Octopus EQ Tool?
Functionally, it serves the same purpose: dry equalization training. The main difference is material and positioning. The C4 EasyQ is a plastic tool; the Octopus EQ Tool is the more premium aluminium option.
