Double K Freediving Buoy

PRE-ORDER NOW! (delivery ~ end. August)

The Double K Freediving Buoy is a large, practical training buoy for freediving, line diving, depth sessions and open-water training. It is designed as a stable surface platform for preparation breathing, recovery breathing, gear storage and line connection.

A good freediving buoy is not just something that floats. It should give divers a clear surface station, enough grip points, space for essential equipment and a reliable way to connect the dive line. The Double K Buoy is built around exactly that: storage, handling, drainage and line setup.

At Kaluna Freediving, we offer the buoy in White and Sky.

Why choose the Double K Freediving Buoy?

The Double K Buoy is built for real freediving sessions, not just casual floating. It gives you a visible surface point, a place to prepare and recover, practical storage for small equipment and connection points for a proper line setup.

This makes it especially useful for lake training, open-water depth sessions, coaching, buddy teams and structured line diving.

Main benefits

  • Large freediving training buoy for open-water and depth sessions
  • 70 cm outer diameter with approx. 27 cm inner opening
  • Enhanced storage capacity with front pocket for small gear
  • Many handles: 8 on the top and 6 on the side
  • Curved ergonomic handle design for easier grip and handling
  • Bottom mesh design to support drainage after use
  • Side stainless-steel D-ring for surface-line or buoy connection
  • Upper and lower line connection options for different buoy setups
  • PVC tarpaulin outer material with PP/webbing reinforcement
  • Inner tube system for firm flotation
  • Suitable for preparation breathing and recovery breathing at the surface

Surface platform for preparation and recovery

Freediving training needs a stable surface point. The Double K Buoy gives the diver a place to hold, breathe, recover and organize equipment before and after a dive.

This is especially useful during depth training, where the buoy becomes the centre of the dive setup: the diver prepares at the surface, the line is connected to the buoy, and the buoy marks the training position clearly.

Storage and handling

The front pocket increases storage efficiency and gives you space for smaller training items such as a mask, snorkel, nose clip, small accessories or line-related equipment. This is useful because open-water training quickly becomes messy if everything floats loose around the buoy.

The buoy also has many handles: 8 handles on the top and 6 handles on the side. The curved ergonomic handle layout makes it easier for divers to hold the buoy, reposition it and use it during surface preparation or recovery.

Bottom mesh and drainage

The underside uses a mesh bottom design. This helps water drain more easily after use and makes the buoy more practical after pool, lake or sea sessions.

This is a small but important detail. Freediving buoys are often used wet, loaded with gear and then carried back to shore, car or storage. Better drainage means less trapped water and easier handling after training.

Line connection system

The Double K Buoy is designed for connection to a freediving line setup. The product diagrams show both an upper connection and a lower connection, with the upper connection marked as the recommended setup.

A side stainless-steel D-ring can be used for surface-line or buoy connection. A carabiner, freediving line and bottom plate are separate parts of the full training setup and should be selected according to your dive site, depth and training style.

Inner tube inflation

The buoy uses an inner tube system. According to the product instruction graphic, the air injector should be fastened to the air inlet of the inner tube and air pressure should be applied until the tube inflates firmly.

For inflation, Double K recommends using a nearby tire or bike shop if needed. Do not overinflate the tube. Inflate it firmly enough for proper shape and support, but avoid unnecessary pressure.

Complete your buoy setup

The buoy is the surface platform. For a complete depth-training setup, combine it with the right rope, pulley system, stopper and bottom plate.

Kaluna Freediving Opinion

This is a strong buoy for freedivers who train seriously in open water. The biggest advantages are the practical storage, the many handles, the mesh bottom and the line-connection layout.

For Swiss lake training, coaching sessions and structured depth training, this kind of buoy makes far more sense than a simple inflatable swim buoy. You can organize equipment, connect your line system and use the buoy as a real surface station.

The correct setup matters. A buoy alone is not a complete depth system. Pair it with a proper freediving rope, stopper, pulley system and bottom plate if you want a clean and safe training line.
