C4 Carbon - 0.5 mm Toe Socks
The C4 Carbon 0.5 mm Toe Socks are ultra-thin neoprene toe protectors for freediving foot pockets. They are designed to improve the fit around the toes, reduce unwanted movement in the front of the foot pocket and keep power transfer direct during finning.
They are especially useful with close-fitting carbon bifins and monofins where barefoot contact can create small pressure points, but a full neoprene sock would add too much thickness.
This is not a warmth sock. It is a precision fit and comfort accessory for freedivers who want better toe hold, less rubbing and maximum sensitivity inside the fin.
Why use toe socks?
In a responsive freediving fin, the front of the foot pocket matters. If there is too much play around the toes, the foot can move inside the pocket before the blade reacts. That creates a softer, less direct feeling during the kick.
A 0.5 mm toe sock adds a minimal layer exactly where many divers need it: around the toes and forefoot. It can improve hold, reduce small pressure points and protect the skin without making the whole foot pocket feel noticeably smaller.
Main benefits
- Ultra-thin 0.5 mm neoprene for maximum sensitivity during finning
- Toe-only design for minimal bulk inside the foot pocket
- Improves hold around the toes when the front of the pocket has slight play
- Helps maintain direct power transfer between foot and blade
- Light protection against rubbing, hot spots and pressure points
- Smooth outside finish for easy entry into the foot pocket
- Lined inside for comfort against the skin
- Internally taped construction for better long-term bonding durability
- Suitable for bifins and monofins with close-fitting foot pockets
Toe Socks or Open Heel Socks?
Choose the 0.5 mm Toe Socks if you mainly want better hold and light protection in the toe area while keeping the rest of the foot as direct as possible.
Choose 0.5 mm Open Heel Socks if you want more general comfort across the foot pocket, especially if you also get rubbing around the instep, side of the foot or heel opening.
If your foot pockets are clearly too large, these toe socks are not enough. They are for fine adjustment and comfort, not for fixing the wrong fin size.
Size guide
| Size | EU shoe size |
|---|---|
| S | 36–39 |
| M | 40–43 |
| L | 44–46 |
Choose your normal EU shoe-size range. The sock should sit snugly on the toes and forefoot so it stays in place when entering the foot pocket.
Recommended fin pairings
These toe socks make the most sense with precise, responsive freediving foot pockets where fit and force transfer matter.
- C4 Protech Freediving Fins: the most natural C4 pairing. Use the toe socks for warm-water comfort, reduced toe friction and a more direct feel in the C4 foot pocket.
- Double K Delfit Carbon Bifin: useful when you want a very thin toe-area adjustment without adding the thickness of a full sock.
- Cetma Taras Monofin: a good option if you want minimal protection in a close-fitting monofin foot pocket while keeping a precise blade connection.
- Cetma Taras Bi-Fins: suitable when you want to reduce toe pressure points while preserving the efficient, close-fitting Taras foot pocket feel.

Kaluna Freediving opinion
This is the sock to choose when the fin fit is almost right, but the toe area needs a little more security or protection.
The strongest use case is not warmth. It is better hold in the front of the foot pocket, less toe movement and a cleaner connection to the blade. For tight foot pockets that press in small areas, the 0.5 mm layer also adds just enough protection without killing sensitivity.
If the whole foot pocket rubs, choose an open heel sock. If only the toe box needs refinement, the 0.5 mm Toe Sock is the sharper tool.
FAQ
What are the C4 0.5 mm Toe Socks for?
They are for fine-tuning fit and comfort in the toe area of freediving foot pockets. They help reduce toe movement, improve hold and protect against small pressure points while keeping a direct fin feel.
Do they make my fins smaller?
Only slightly in the toe area. At 0.5 mm, they are for fine adjustment, not for fixing foot pockets that are clearly too large.
Are they warm?
Not significantly. They are too thin to be used as thermal socks. Their main purpose is fit, sensitivity and light protection.
Can I use them with bifins?
Yes. They are well suited to close-fitting freediving bifins, especially when you want better toe hold without wearing a full sock.
Can I use them with a monofin?
Yes, if the monofin foot pockets are already close-fitting. They can reduce rubbing in the toe area while preserving a precise connection to the blade.
Should I choose Toe Socks or Open Heel Socks?
Choose Toe Socks if the problem is mainly toe play or pressure in the front of the foot pocket. Choose Open Heel Socks if you want more general protection across the foot.
Which size should I choose?
Choose your normal EU shoe-size range: S for 36–39, M for 40–43 and L for 44–46.
