Double K Wrist / Ankle Lanyard Set 120 cm

PRE-ORDER NOW! (delivery ~ end. August)

The Double K Wrist / Ankle Lanyard Set is a complete freediving lanyard set for depth training, line diving, Free Immersion and competition use. The set includes a coated stainless steel wire, strap, tangle-free carabiner, bungee line and a Tag Protector / competition tag holder.

At Kaluna Freediving, we offer this lanyard set with the 120 cm wire and M/L strap sizing. This is the most practical setup for freedivers who want one lanyard for wrist use, ankle use and Free Immersion / FIM.

Why choose the Double K Lanyard Set?

A freediving lanyard is simple equipment, but it has to work cleanly. The connection to the dive line should be stable, easy to handle and comfortable enough for repeated depth sessions.

The Double K set combines a 2 mm SUS316 stainless steel coated wire, a tangle-free custom-made carabiner, a comfortable strap, a bungee line and a Tag Protector / tag holder. The result is a practical lanyard setup for depth training, line diving, Free Immersion and competition-style training.

Certified tensile strength test

Double K shows a certified tensile strength test for this lanyard with a result of 239.8 kgf. This is an important safety and quality detail because a freediving lanyard is not decorative equipment. It is part of your connection to the dive line during depth training.

The manufacturer graphic compares the Double K lanyard at 239.8 kgf with a third-party lanyard shown at 220.4 kgf. The point is simple: this lanyard is built and tested for serious freediving use, not just casual accessory use.

For line diving, Free Immersion and competition-style training, this kind of test information matters. The lanyard should be easy to handle, but it also needs to be strong, consistent and reliable.

Includes Tag Protector / competition tag holder

One of the most useful details of this set is the included Tag Protector. In practical freediving use, this works as a Velcro-based holder for competition or target-depth tags.

In depth competitions and target-depth training, a tag is often placed at the bottom plate or target depth. The diver brings this tag back to the surface as proof that the announced depth was reached. A common problem is simple: where do you safely put the tag during ascent?

The Double K Tag Protector gives you a clean place to secure that tag. This is a real advantage over many standard freediving lanyards where the diver has to improvise.

Kaluna size & length recommendation

We intentionally offer this lanyard set with the 120 cm wire and M/L strap sizing. This setup works best for most real freediving use because it covers wrist use, ankle use and Free Immersion / FIM with one lanyard.

Available at Kaluna Best for Recommendation
M / 120 cm Most freedivers Best allround setup for wrist use and occasional ankle use.
L / 120 cm Larger wrists or regular ankle use Choose L if you want more adjustment room, especially for FIM.

Wrist use and ankle use

For standard depth sessions, many freedivers wear the lanyard around the wrist. For Free Immersion / FIM, ankle use often makes more sense because the hands are actively used on the rope.

This is why the 120 cm wire + M/L strap combination is the most practical setup if you want one lanyard for different depth training situations.

Kaluna Freediving Opinion

The strongest version of this product is the practical one: 120 cm wire with M or L strap. It covers wrist use, ankle use and Free Immersion better than smaller or shorter setups.

Double K also offers smaller strap and shorter wire options, but we do not think they make much sense for most customers. A smaller strap can become limiting as soon as the lanyard is used around the ankle, and a shorter wire is less flexible for FIM. If you only buy one lanyard, the 120 cm version with M or L strap is the better setup.

The included Tag Protector / tag holder is another strong detail. For competition or target-depth training, having a dedicated place to secure a depth tag is much cleaner than improvising. Many lanyards do not solve this properly.

The tensile strength test is also important. A lanyard is safety-relevant equipment, so strength and reliability matter more than cosmetic details. The manufacturer’s 239.8 kgf test result gives this product a stronger quality argument than many generic lanyards.

FAQ

What is included in the Double K Wrist / Ankle Lanyard Set?

The set includes the lanyard wire, strap, Tag Protector / tag holder and bungee line.

Why does Kaluna offer the 120 cm version?

Because it is more versatile for wrist and ankle use, especially during Free Immersion / FIM. A shorter wire can work for wrist-only use, but it is less flexible.

Why does Kaluna offer M and L?

Size M is the best allround choice for most freedivers. Size L is better for larger wrists, regular ankle use or more adjustment room.

Can I use this lanyard around the ankle?

Yes. Ankle use is especially relevant for Free Immersion, where the hands are used on the rope.

What is the Tag Protector used for?

The Tag Protector is a Velcro-based holder that can be used to secure competition or target-depth tags. In depth training or competition, the diver may need to bring a tag back from the bottom plate to prove the announced depth was reached.

How strong is the Double K lanyard?

Double K shows a certified tensile strength test result of 239.8 kgf for this lanyard. This is a strong quality argument for line diving, Free Immersion and depth training.

What is the wire made from?

The wire is a 2 mm SUS316 stainless steel coated wire.

Is the carabiner designed to reduce tangling?

Yes. Double K describes the carabiner as a tangle-free custom-made carabiner.

Is this lanyard only for advanced freedivers?

It is mainly relevant for freedivers doing line-based depth training, Free Immersion or organized open-water training. It is not needed for normal pool training without a dive line.
